Sophistication seemed to be the key word for the new electronics showcased for 2011 when the National Marine Electronics Association gathered in Seattle. The variety of products shown included the revolutionary CHIRP sonar from Simrad in the all-new, innovative GeoNav line, combined capabilities like Raymarine’s integrated FLIR technology, and simple improvements in existing hardware and software.
It’s a trade-only show, but it offered a glimpse of what will be available this winter at boat shows around the country. We slipped in for an early look at the new gear that fishermen will have to choose from when tweaking their electronics suite in preparation for spring.
