Tyler Wald and Brent Schirmer spent three days chasing snook through Florida backwaters aboard the Mako 18 Pro Skiff. They fished mangrove-lined creeks, oyster bars, and skinny-water channels, presenting topwater lures and live mullet to strong, wary fish. Each cast tested their skill and patience, with snook streaking through the murky water and challenging every approach.
By exploring tight channels and hidden coves, the anglers connected with fish in places few boats ever reach. Over three days of scouting and presenting topwater lures, they experienced the thrill of pursuing one of Florida’s most sought-after inshore species, ending the trip with several memorable fish.

Brent Schirmer is a content creator based in Tampa Bay, Florida.
