Sport Fishing’s editor in chief is just back from a couple of days fishing offshore out of Cocodrie in western Louisiana. Read Doug Olander’s full report with photos (including of Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal who fished with Olander), at www.sportfishingmag.com next week.

“I’ve long maintained that Louisiana’s offshore fishery is truly world-class,” Olander says. “My job provides opportunities to fish all over the world, but it’s hard to find action anywhere that gets better than the bite we enjoyed. No sign of oil – just bent rods, all day.”

Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal and Center for Coastal Conservation president Jeff Angers admire one of many 3XL-sized gray snapper that the anglers wrested from oil rigs off Cocodrie on July 28, fishing with Capt. Tommy Pellegrin.
