Anheuser-Busch and West Marine both dropped their financial support for The Ocean Conservancy after it came to light that the environmental group is opposing the Freedom to Fish Act (H.R. 3547). Both companies announced their support for the proposed legislation and recreational fishermen. The environmental group opposes the Freedom to Fish Act, saying the law would “effectively prohibit closure of areas to recreational fishing unless an unreasonable burden of proof can be met.” For more information about the Freedom to Fish Act, visitwww.freedomtofish.org.
