To catch big flounder I add a half-inch-diameter ball of children’s modeling clay, such as Play-Doh, to the tip of the hook after threading on a live spearing or killie. I use orange clay, which acts as a visual attractant, and Play-Doh seems to release a unique scent that flounder really go for. This clay is biodegradable and non-toxic so there’s no need to worry about harming the fish or polluting the water.
