Chasing Port Canaveral Bull Redfish

Ryan Morie and Tyler Wald set out from Port Canaveral on their Ranger 2600, targeting giant bull redfish, the elusive 45 to 50-inch trophy class fish. With Captain Cody Fee at the helm and a full arsenal of baits—including croakers, pinfish, shrimp, blue crabs, and mullet—the team fished nearshore wrecks where bulls feed. Both Ryan and Tyler landed several fish over 40 inches on a variety of live bait. Cody kept them on the schools all day, producing multiple personal best redfish.

On day two, the pair shifted focus to inshore snook and black drum while continuing to chase bulls. Cody’s guidance put them on slot snook, including a couple fish destined for the cooler. Late in the afternoon, the bull red bite fired up again, producing a double-header. Between the relentless action and trophy fish, the trip highlighted Port Canaveral as a prime destination for monster redfish.
