CCA Florida promotes life member to Chief Operating Officer

Jeff Allen, CCA Florida President and Chairman of the Management Committee, worked long and hard to get the reorganization done

CCA Florida recently completed a major overhaul of staff assignments and duties by promoting life member and long time staff member, Brian Gorski, to the position of Chief Operating Officer. Brian will be responsible for all business operations of CCA Florida including fundraising, membership and corporate relations. In addition Brian will continue to directly support the Manatee and Sarasota chapters. Brian will work closely with Executive Director, Ted Forsgren, to continue CCA Florida’s mission and role as the voice of recreational anglers. “I am very excited about this wonderful opportunity and appreciate the support and confidence of the volunteers of this great organization” said Gorski.

As part of the reorganization, Dan Askin was promoted to General Manager. Also a life member, as well as past Orlando Chapter President, Dan will be responsible for all CCA Florida publications, marketing, website development and oversight of the Orlando office staff. “I look forward to the new challenges this position brings,” said Askin. Dan will also continue to support the Orlando, Mid Coast, Treasure Coast and Space Coast chapters.

“I have known Brian and Dan for many years. They are hard working, committed staffers,” said Ted Forsgren. “They will do an excellent job in their new positions and I am really looking forward to working with them.”

To fill the remaining chapter support responsibilities, Mike Modisett has been hired as our newest Regional Director. Mike recently received his Masters degree in advertising from the University of Texas and is an avid fisherman, enjoying all types of saltwater fishing. Mike will be responsible for supporting chapters in the northern part of the state. “We are very pleased to have Mike join our team” said newly appointed C.O.O. Brian Gorski. “We look forward to seeing Mike develop into a real asset to the organization.”

Jeff Allen, CCA Florida President and Chairman of the Management Committee, worked long and hard to get the reorganization done, and done right.  “With the help of key volunteers like Cary Kresge, Don Roberts and Jeff Miller we were able to put a plan together that sets CCA Florida on the path for success” said Allen. “CCA members should be proud to have such talented and committed volunteers working on their behalf.” Everyone is extremely happy with the results. Mark Carter, CCA Florida Chairman stated “I truly appreciate the efforts of our Management Committee and I am confident they have made the right decisions. I am sure that Brian and Dan’s proven track record and dedication to the organization will ensure our success.” Carter added “The fact that our three highest ranking staff members, Ted, Brian and Dan, are all CCA Florida Life Members really makes a strong statement about their personal commitment to the organization and our conservation mission.”
