Over the past year, yachts visiting the Los Cabos area now have a good alternative to Marina Cabo San Lucas. Marina at Puerto Los Cabos (only the second in Los Cabos), located approximately 15 miles east of Cabo San Lucas and adjacent to the quaint town of San Jose del Cabo, is the largest private marina in all of Mexico. It offers world-class facilities and service while accommodating over 500 boats including luxury mega-yachts.

Marina Puerto Los Cabos is part of Puerto Los Cabos, a development situated on 2,000 acres of property, with more than 3 miles of beachfront.  In addition to having the largest private marina in Mexico, Puerto Los Cabos has two golf courses, designed by Jack Nicklaus and Greg Norman, exclusive home-sites, more than 100 homes complete, and plans for a marina retail complex featuring shops, restaurants and other entertainment venues. A collection of high-end hotels will also be featured within the gates of Puerto Los Cabos.

The big news for boating enthusiasts is that in April 2010, the Marine Center at The Marina at Puerto Los Cabos will open. They will have the first dry stack storage yard in all of Mexico. The dry stack boat storage will allow owners of boats up to 33 feet in length to lower their maintenance and insurance costs by storing them in enclosed shelving systems. As well, they have teamed up with Marine Group Boat Works, a West Coast industry leader in yacht refits and will have the capacity of hauling and repairing yachts measuring up to 110 feet.  Up until now, if a yacht needed repair in Baja, they would have to go to San Diego.  And for those fishing enthusiasts, Marina at Puerto Los Cabos is closer to East Cape’s top fishing sites and saves boaters 45-60 minutes each way.
