Orvis Hydros Floating Line

Because of the improvements, you’ll be able to pick up and shoot farther and faster

For 2012, Orvis has made great efforts to enhance the performance of all of its fly lines. The Hydros floating variety has better floating capabilities in the tip, thanks to the addition of plastic microballoons filled with butane in the coating. The diameter of the tip is slightly larger, which also helps the line stay on top of the surface. Because of the improvements, you’ll be able to pick up and shoot farther and faster. And you need not use a permanent for identification purposes because, just like all new Orvis lines, the Hydros has a permanent ID built in. In addition, the lines have smoother and stronger welded loops and are much more streamlined. $75 standard coating; $89 3-D textured coating; www.orvis.com
