SIMRAD debuts SART and EPIRB, in partnership with Jotron AS.
Salt Water Sportsman

Simrad’s new Search and Rescue Transponders and Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacons are the result of a partnership with Jotron AS. The compact and lightweight Simrad SA70 and SA70 AIS ($850) provide the location of a vessel in distress to nearby vessels and aircraft. The SA70 features a built-in AIS transponder that provides a precise GPS-position update every minute. Both models are buoyant and waterproof, and have an operating battery life of 96 hours.

The Simrad EG70 GPS-EPIRB and EP70 EPIRB (starting at $750) are primary alarms that transmit the ID and position of the vessel in distress via satellite for 48 hours once activated.
