1) Select your icing dyes from a crafts or cooking store. Experiment with colors. Set up your work area with an old cutting board, sharp fillet knife and mixing containers. Darren Dorris

2) Clean the squid and remove the skin. Slice the mantle down the center. Then cut the squid into long, triangular strips. Squid can also be dyed whole for trolling. Darren Dorris
