Reader Tips: Anchor Cooler Keeper

Use a 1∕2-inch piece of copper pipe to create an anchor cooler that's portable.

I wanted a way to make my wreck anchor portable, so I built this handy carrier out of a wheeled cooler.

I put a 1∕2-inch piece of copper pipe through the hub of a 150-foot spool of rope, and fastened pipe insulation on either side of the spool to hold it in place.

The pipe slips perfectly into the grooves running down the inside of the cooler, and is secured by hollow-wall anchors screwed into the center of the pipe from the outside of the cooler.

I then attached the chain and wreck anchor, and it all fits inside nicely.
