Angler releases 12 Atlantic sails on fly in a single day

The feat is believed to be a record...

Taking advantage of an epic bite off Isla Mujeres, Mexico, Nassim Joaquin of Cozumel caught and released 12 Atlantic sailfish on a fly rod in a single day on February 1st, while fishing with Captain Anthony Mendillo (http://www.islamujeressportfishing.com), a well known charter captain based in Isla. Joaquin is the Cozumel IGFA representative, and an avid fly fisherman. These kind of numbers are often achieved by fly fishermen fishing for Pacific sailfish, but Atlantic sailfish are considered much more difficult to hook on the fly, making this feat all the more incredible. It is believed to be a record.
