GARMIN's latest offering on downloadable MapSource cartography for its receivers is a CD-ROM designed to offer mariners map detail for both inland, coastal and offshore use. The CD ($80) offers coastline detail, complete with icons identifying ramps, facilities and danger areas.

The CD-ROM also contains nautical navigation aids for the U.S., such as a list of lights, sound signals, buoys and daybeacons. Users will be able to detect shipwrecks, submerged rocks and other obstructions. It even has a detailed U.S. map showing cities, towns and highways. GARMIN, Olathe, KS; (913) 397-8200
