Umpqua Saltwater Leaders

Umpqua Feather Merchants new line of monofilament saltwater leaders will have you casting farther and catching more fish.

Trying to get a large striper fly to turn over in the face of a stiff wind can get pretty tricky, especially if your leader material doesn’t have the necessary weight and backbone. Umpqua Feather Merchant’s new line of monofilament saltwater leaders will have you casting farther and catching more fish.
Umpqua’s leaders are made from the strongest, most abrasion-resistant nylon monofilament on the market and feature extra-long heavy-butt sections to maximize energy transfer from fly line to fly. These leaders come in a variety of sizes and types including knotless, tapered leaders (10- to 12-foot lengths and 8- to 20-pound-test) as well as specialty hand-tied leaders (flats leader with fluorocarbon tippet, basic saltwater and wire-tipped).
Umpqua also offers matching leader and butt material made from the same monofilament that can be used to make your own leaders or to lengthen its knotless, tapered saltwater leaders.
