The Tipping Point

st_tip1_165x179.jpg

For an easy trailer hookup without any help, I made a pair of alignment aids using powerful one-inch-diameter, coin-shaped magnets glued to the ends of three-foot-long, 1/4-inch-diameter dowels. I stand one dowel on the trailer ball and the other on the coupler. Then I back up, keeping the sticks aligned, until the dowel on the ball tips forward. For added visiblity, I wrap bright tape around the dowel tips.
