Three Great Days on a Fly.

Captain Antonio is back in the water and the fish are scared!! After a busy high season Capt Antonio took a couple of weeks to get his boat painted, motors tuned and rebuild a few reels.

Returning to the action Capt Antonio hosted two anglers from British Colombia, Tom Harris and Clayton Walker. The duo fished three days chasing Sails on the fly!! On the first day of fishing Capt Antonio headed south to Burica where good sailfish action had been reported in the previous days. Sailfish do move around our waters, and the action was slow. The duo raised 4 Sails, got 2 to bite and released 1. On the second day Capt Antonio went out to the hump a normally very productive area.  Tom and Clayton were not disappointed raising 11 Sails with 7 take the fly and completing the day with 4 releases!! The final day Antonio headed farther north on a hunch and it paid off!! Another great day for the boys from BC, with 16 Sails raised, 12 taking the fly and 5 releases!! On the way back Antonio pulled the boat up to a large school of Spinner Dolphins giving Tom and Clayton a few casts at the Tuna!! Each angler got a decent sized schoolie weighing roughly 20 to 25 lbs . Neither had ever caught a tuna on a fly rod, the guys told me that when they come back they want to spend some serious time chasing Tuna with the Fly!!
