Results in from Seguar Gold Cup Tournament

The 40th anniversary Seguar Gold Cup Event saw 22 anglerscompete for the largest tarpon on fly during the four-day event inLorelei, Islamorada in the Florida Keys. Fourteen tarpon over the70-pound minimum and another 36 over the 4-foot length minimum werecaught and released.
The Grand Champion angler was Andy Mill, of Delray Beach, Florida,fishing with Captain Tim Hoover. They caught 3 weight fish and 2releases for a total of 3084 points. First runner-up angler wasCharles Duncan, of Texas, fishing with Captain RobFordyce. They caught 2 weight fish and 5 releases. Secondrunner-up angler was Tim Mahaffey, of Miami, Florida, fishing withCaptain Rick Murphy caught 1 weight fish and 3 releases.
The largest tarpon, 146.8 pounds, was caught by Donald Ponn, ofMassachusetts, with Captain Steve Thomas.
The most releases, 12, were caught by Mike Linehan, of Colorado,fishing with Captain Craig Brewer.
High Point new angler was Tim Mahaffey fishing with Captain RickMurphy.
