PowerPro Braided Spectra Line

Innovative Textiles, one of the original manufacturers of Spectra lines, may just have the solution to the gel-spun drawbacks.

We all know that gel-spun backings afford strength in a tiny diameter. The problem is that most gel-spun lines bury into the spool, cut and scar almost everything they come into contact with and make it difficult to tie knots. However, its tiny diameter means you can pack far more of a stronger line onto your reel, which is
especially important if you fish offshore.

Innovative Textiles, one of the original manufacturers of Spectra lines, may just have the solution to the gel-spun drawbacks. The enhanced body technology featured in its PowerPro braided Spectra line provides a rounder, more compact braided line, so the spool packs better and does not bury into itself. Enhanced body also allows effective use of simpler knots, and since there’s no Kevlar the smoother surface of the braid won’t scar guides. The compact design of the braid prevents water absorption, and the line has near zero stretch and no memory. PowerPro 50-pound test is only 0.014 inch in diameter, about the same size as 12-pound monofilament.

PowerPro is available in lines ranging from 10- (0.006 inch in diameter) to 250-pound test (0.035 inch in diameter) and in spools of 100 to 1,500 yards in white, moss or new Hi-Vis yellow.
