Penn Fishing Tackle Manufacturing Company of Philadelphia has been sold to Sea Striker of Morehead City, North Carolina, and Master Fishing Tackle of Carson, California, for an undisclosed amount. Penn, one of the world’s largest marketers of quality salt water fishing reels and rods, will continue to be headquartered in Philadelphia and will continue to operate its three factories in Pennsylvania. The new owners of the company purchased all the shares from the Henze family, who owned and operated Penn over the past 70 years. Penn reels hold over 1,000 world records, while the company’s rods hold over 200 world records.
