Okuma’s new SCT Boat rods combine a patented blank construction process, blending unidirectional fiber over 24-ton carbon in the tip section to increase strength and lifting power as much as 400 percent, with Okuma’s Spiral Carbon Technology, which reinforces the complete rod blank with a double-helix wrap configuration containing over 6,000 strands of carbon fiber. The result is a series of 13 spinning, casting and trolling rods that are light and sensitive, yet powerful, strong and durable. They feature Fuji or Alps reel seats with EVA and/or tubular carbon-fiber grips, as well as Fuji K-concept guide frames with Alconite inserts wrapped with pure carbon thread for added holding power.
