Under Armour Donates to Casting for Recovery

Under Armour clothing makes an impact in the sport of fly fishing.

Under Armour, the performance-apparel gear company, donated the largest single gift ever to Casting for Recovery. Casting for Recovery is a non-profit organization that counsels, delivers medical education and uses fly fishing to promote physical and mental healing. The donation was made to the organization’s quality of life program, supporting women at any age or stage of treatment and recovery from breast cancer.

“We’ve been honored to partner with Casting for Recovery, an organization dedicated to helping women navigate the physical and mental journey towards a better quality of life after breast cancer diagnosis and treatment.” said Stacey Ullrich, Under Armour’s Director of Corporate Giving and Community Affairs.

Under Armour’s campaign for Casting for Recovery, conducted the week of October 11 – 17, 2012, allowed any customer who donated $5 to Casting for Recovery to take a 20-percent discount off their entire purchase.

“We are so surprised and thrilled with the results of this campaign!” said Lori Simon, Executive Director of Casting for Recovery. “This amazing gift provides a significant, game-changing boost to Casting for Recovery. Thanks to this support from Under Armour’s Give Back team, and their customers all over the world, we will be able to increase training of volunteers in order to sustain and grow our program. This support is a stellar example of the power of the relationship between our organizations, and a perfect example of Under Armour’s belief that a physically active lifestyle is vital to a healthy life with or without cancer.”
