The remnants of Hurricane Sandy continue to pound coastal waters from North Carolina to New York. Add in 70-plus mile per hour (mph) winds, plus the full-moon tides, and many of New England’s best fishing areas may look dramatically different next week.
In Maryland, the Associated Press (AP) is reporting that the Boardwalk Pier at Ocean City is heavily damaged after heavy surf pounded at its pilings. The fishing pier is now “half-gone,” says Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley.
The conditions have been horrendous, obvious by some of the nicknames this storm has generated such as “Frankenstorm” and “Snowicane.” Below is a collection of the some of the best marine-related videos we’ve seen from the storm:
** The East River in New York getting pummeled by wind**
** US Coast Guard rescues the surviors from the HMS Bounty, a ship seen in movies such as _Pirates of the Carribean _**
