Tournament organizers and local guides set the fishing dates to avoid extreme low tides so anglers can stalk bonefish on the flats.
Anglers can use spin or fly gear. Three line-test classes have been established with different point awards: 100 points for bonefish caught on 6-pound line or tippet, 75 points for bonefish caught on 8-pound line or tippet and 50 points for bonefish caught on 10-pound line or tippet.

Individual and team grand champion awards are to go to the top point-getters in each division. The travelers’ trophy awaits the out-of-county angler who accumulates the most points.

Men’s and women’s, permit, new contestant, wet pants (individual and team) for wade-fishing points, and grand slam (bonefish, permit and tarpon) are just some of the other trophies and awards to at stake.
