CCA is reviewing the documents and will provide comments and recommendations to present at the hearings. Comments and Recommendations will follow this message soon. The recommendations will also be presented to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission next week at their meeting in Naples FL.
Attempts to simply prohibit all fishing in large areas have been opposed by CCA. Prohibiting recreational access and recreational fishing in areas with historic recreational use, like BNP, should be the last resort, not the first option.
CCA does not support the preferred alternative 4 or the other alternatives 2, 3, or 5, which also have marine reserves (no fishing zones) or large no motor zones which severely restrict boating.
