The quality of catches during the 13th Annual Cayman Islands International Fishing Tournament, held May 5 - 8, showed once again why the Caymans remain a popular angling destination. A total of 56 boats braved rough seas and registered 18 blue marlin releases. An impressive number of large dolphin were caught as well, with a 51-pound, three-ounce fish topping that category. Yellowfin tuna up to 74-pounds, four-ounces, were also encountered, along with wahoo up to 51-pounds, three-ounces.
SWS's George Poveromo, along with Florida marine biologist Craig Watson, served as judges for the event.
