Yvonne Buckley, with the support of her trainer, coach, photographer and husband Richard Buckley, has reached a significant milestone in her angling career with the landing of her 100th marlin on standup gear. The personal record was restricted to black and blue marlin, and announced this week by Tropic Star Lodge, Panama, from which she campaigned this impressive feat.
Visitors to the lodge have long been aware of her expertise and dedication, through here mounting toll of caught fish as well as her training regimen while in residence, which includes swimming 100 laps in the pool as part of her daily routine. The 100th standup marlin came last week during the course of Buckley’s 46th visit to Tropic Star Lodge.
The accomplishment was celebrated on the Buckley’s last night at the lodge, alongside other guests, namely Guy Harvey and his daughter Jessica, film crew, and other guests.
