This past week has seen excellent fishing for stripers and blues. The bunker are all along the coast from Sandy Hook south! Numerous stripers have been landed in the 30’s, 40’s and a few in the 50’s. Bunker are large baitfish (12 inches), so you need to use large flies.
If you ever wanted to catch a large striper now is the time. Don’t know how long this run of large fish will last. The bluefish are all over the place. If trying for blues, use a trace of wire on your leader.
