We all know how important a trolling motor can be when stalking tarpon or trying to stay on top of stripers along a rocky shoreline. In order to make staying with the fish easier, Minn Kota has introduced a new line of trolling motors with a unique and helpful twist – an integrated and protected universal sonar transducer puck. Minn Kota placed the transducer puck inside the lower unit of the motor and ran all the wiring inside the motor shaft to keep it hidden and protected. Even better, the system was designed to work with a number of different fish finders. So far the list of compatible sounders includes select units by Lowrance, Eagle, Humminbird, Zercom, GARMIN and Bottom-Line.
The Universal Sonar option is available on Minn Kota Genesis 55AP and 74AP models with 45-, 52- and 60-inch shafts, Maxxum 50/SC and 65 with 42-inch shafts, Maxxum 74 with 42- and 52-inch shafts, and the AutoPilot 55 and 65 models with 48-, 54- and 60-inch shafts. The suggested retail price of the Universal Sonar feature on these units is $69.95. A number of accessory adaptors ($19.95) allow hookup with most major brands of finders.
