When I go striped bass fishing with my friends, we use a lip-grabbing device instead of a net. We wanted to have it handy for everyone, but I didn’t want to attach anything permanently to my boat. I found the ideal clips at a marine-supply store. The 1″ size fit the lipping device, and the 1 1/2″ size fit the crossbar of my T-top. I bought two of each and attached the 1″ clip base-to-base to the 1 1/2″ clip with stainless hardware. When we’re fishing, I attach the clips to my T-top crossbar and attach the lipping device. And I can stow the lipping device and clips when they’re not needed, without leaving any unsightly holes on my boat.
