Inkwell

st_tip2_220x245.jpg

When squid baits squirt ink in the live well, it can be difficult to keep them alive-plus it’s a huge mess. I solved this problem with a floating, flow-through bait well. Drill rows of 1/2-inch holes around a five-gallon bucket, and cut a four-inch-diameter hole into the lid. Next, cut a foam noodle so it fits around the rim. To attach the noodle, drill small holes in the rim and lid, and then thread wire ties through the holes and tighten them around the noodle. Four ties is enough. Connect the handle to a stern cleat with a length of rope, and toss it overboard.
