My 18′ Pathfinder gets pretty messy when we’re fishing, so I went to the hardware store and bought a quick-disconnect hose connector, which I attached to the output fitting of my live-well pump. I also bought a garden hose, which I cut to the appropriate length, and a spray nozzle. After boating a bloody fish, using my castnet or putting a muddy anchor on the deck, I can quickly and easily hook up the hose to the live well pump, wash the deck clean and have my live well up and running again in no time. Keep in mind that the live-well pump operates continuously and doesn’t shut off under pressure, so be sure to keep the hose nozzle open or shut off the pump as needed.
