Homemade Reel Stripper

homemade_stripper.jpg

I mounted an empty tin can on my electric drill to use as a spool to strip line from my reel. Drill a 1/4″ hole in the center of the bottom of an empty tin can. Pass a 3″ full-threaded bolt through the hole so the head is inside the can. Slip a split washer on the bolt, then tighten down a nut. Place the bolt in the chuck of your power drill and spin your line right off the reel.
