Going a Long Way for Safety

I often fish alone and always clip my ignition safety shut-off cord to my lifejacket. The problem I had was that I could not reach my fishing rods while trolling without pulling on the cord and shutting down the engine. To solve the problem, I purchased a 20-foot telephone cord (about $4), and crimped the ignition clip to one end and put a snap hook on the other end. With about the same amount of coil hanging from the ignition as the stock cord, I can now reach all of my rods without a problem, and, more importantly, I always have the safety cord attached.
