It’s tough to beat a comfortable sneaker – unless of course you’re wearing a comfortable sandal. Yes, the choice can be tricky but now, Sperry Topsider has a new hybrid that’s part shoe and part sandal and they have cleverly dubbed their mutant footwear as the Ventus Shandal. All of the meshes and linings in the Shandal offer breathability and water compatibility. They are more robust than a sandal but still much lighter in weight than a shoe. Sporting the trademarked Hydro-Grip rubber outsole with the thrademarked Quadro-Grip Multi-Directional Wave Siping, you have a sole that allows fantastic traction on both wet and dry surfaces and, it’s non-marking to boot. Sperry does recommend that if you plan on purchasing the Ventus Shandal, plan on getting them in a half size smaller than your normal shoe size. Retail price is $120.
