The Uniden Mystic is a full VHF/GPS mapping marine handheld radio that combines the company’s advanced radio with the latest in GPS technology. The Mystic is a result of Uniden’s partnership with Thales Navigation, makers of Magellan GPS units. The VHF offers all U.S., Canadian and International channels, and features DSC positioning display and a memory channel scan function. The unit can be switched between one and five watts to preserve the batteries or transmit at maximum power, and is powered by a LiON battery pack that can be charged with a 12V DC plug or AC adapter. The WAAS-enabled GPS unit provides the user with a full-screen mapping GPS with a built-in map database, a quadrifilar antenna and 12-parallel-channel technology. The waterproof Mystic’s backlit LCD and keypad allow for use in any light condition and the unit sells for $399.95. Uniden America, Fort Worth, TX; (800) 297-1023; www.uniden.com.
