The CA40 and CA50 Multifunction Navigation Centers combine radar, a DGPS chart plotter, and a multi-frequency echosounder into one unit. The CA40 offers a 10″ color LCD screen, while the CA50 offers a 14″ screen. All functions can be displayed on full- or split-screen. The chart plotter mode is supported by C-MAP NT cartography, and gives continuous updates from the unit’s 14-channel DGPS receiver. In the radar mode, the radar picture can be overlaid on top of the chart presentation, providing a view of real-time radar on the chart. As for the echosounder, it features two powerful 1,000-watt RMS transmitters, allowing the user to see down to 1,800 meters. The units can also be programmed to operate at a variety of frequency combinations (38/50kHz, 38/200kHz, and 50/200 kHz) depending on your needs. Simrad, Lynnwood, WA; (425) 778-8821.
