Garmin Marine Network

garmin_marine.jpg

The Garmin Marine Network is a plug-and-play system that provides fully integrated GPS, radar, sonar and weather data in an easy-to-use format. The system is anchored with either the GPSMAP3010C or GPSMAP3006C, waterproof, sunlight-readable display units with 10.4″ or 6.4″ diagonal screen size, respectively. The 256-color displays are powered by a high-speed processor for fast redraw of charts from Garmin’s BlueChart cartography. The multifunction displays automatically detect all connected peripherals. The GMS 10 Network Port Expander allows the user to network multiple display and sensor units, including the GDL 30 weather data receiver and the GSD 20 black box depthsounder. The GDL 30 works with XM WX Satellite Weather data service to access real-time graphical weather data directly without a PC interface. The GSD 20 offers 4,000W peak-to-peak and 500W RMS in a dual-frequency transducer. Garmin allows the user to upgrade the software of all components via the Garmin data card and the Internet. Components for the Garmin Marine Network start at $267.84 and the satellite service is by monthly subscription. Garmin, Olathe, KS; (913) 397-8200; www.garmin.com.
