Sage Bass Series Fly Rods

Consider putting one in your arsenal on your next trip to the Everglades or the Yucatán.

Sage’s new Bass series of fly rods may have been designed for delivering freshwater bugs to largemouth and smallmouth bass, but they have practical saltwater applications, as well.

The four-piece travel rods are available in two models (the Largemouth and the Smallmouth) and measure 7 feet, 11 inches in length. The shorter length makes these rods ideal not only for competitive bass fishing but also for probing tight quarters in mangrove environments for snook and small tarpon. Consider putting one in your arsenal on your next trip to the Everglades or the Yucatán. They are also very effective when throwing big, bulky flies into a stiff breeze.

Bass series rods are sold with a padded rod/reel travel case and a matching fly line (290-grain line on the Smallmouth; 330-grain line on the Largemouth). MSRP is $350. www.sageflyfish.com
