Shooting head systems are great for their changability and because they help you reach long distances, but if you don’t need to switch the head on a trip, why bother with them? RIO introduces its newest line – an integrated shooting taper designed to cast like a shooting head and get you more distance – for just such a purpose.
The OutBound Integrated Shooting Taper loads rods quickly and easily, which in turn allows you to cast more line not only farther, but also faster. Its Powerflex core combines with a reversed compound taper and an ultrathin running line to help ensure you get the most distance possible without tangles. Each line’s 371¼2-foot head weighs more than the AFTMA standards in order to load the newer high-performance rods more fully and with fewer false casts.
The OutBound works best in cooler saltwater climates and comes in five sink rates, ranging from a floater to a Type 8 density-compensated sinking
