Double-handed rods are gaining popularity in salt water, and G. Loomis is addressing that niche with its new CrossCurrent double-handed Beach Rods. The new CrossCurrent FR13510-4 CC beach rod handles flies up to 5 inches and is rated for 10- and 11-weight or 400- to 450-grain-weight lines. The CrossCurrent FR13512-4 CC is the rod for all-out distance and bigger fish, including giant trevally and tarpon off the beach. It’s rated for 12- and 13-weight lines, or grain-weight lines from 500 to 550. Both rods work best with lines featuring a 35- to 40-foot-long head. $500; www.gloomis.com
