Loon’s Lochsa Fly Reel

Loon's Lochsa (pronounced lock-saw) fly reel is attractive, affordable and one of the newest large-arbor models on the market.

Most fly-fishermen are familiar with Loon Outdoors’ great accessories, fly boxes and gear bags, but its latest creation will make you do a double take. Loon’s Lochsa (pronounced lock-saw) fly reel is attractive, affordable and one of the newest large-arbor models on the market. Headquartered in Idaho, Loon named the reel after the state’s Lochsa River, but don’t jump to the conclusion that it’s just for freshwater fishing.

Machined from A6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum, the reel is precision-built and features a sealed cork drag system as well as an innovative concave spool design that offers a larger capacity for both fly line and backing. It can be easily converted from a right- to a left-hand retrieve, and it comes with a lifetime warranty. The Lochsa’s saltwater models include 5/6-, 7/8-, 9/10-weights and 11/12-weights that retail for $179.99 to 199.99 and are available in gold, silver, titanium and black finishes.
