Like most wine drinkers, I can always find reasons to taste a new vintage. So given the opportunity to try a merlot from the Guy Harvey Artist’s Collection on a recent sedate Tuesday night, I quickly motioned to my spouse and said, “Please, pop that cork. I have some work to do!” Harvey’s merlot smells of berries and cinnamon and carries full-bodied fruit flavors with a very light aftertaste.

Harvey’s collection also includes a cabernet sauvignon and two white wines – a chardonnay and a sauvignon blanc. All come from California grapes and are custom-blended by the Adler Fels Winery. Bottles are labeled with stunning and colorful Guy Harvey fish prints of blue marlin, tarpon, dolphin and sailfish. Retail cost is $14 at ABC Liquor stores in Florida; the wines will soon be available at Florida’s Publix grocery stores. Online, order the collection from www.guyharveywine.com or call 800-823-5527. Wine can’t be shipped to all states, so check the list provided on the website.
