It didn’t take long for Fin-Nor’s Offshore spinning reels to prove their worth in the salt. New to the Offshore line are the smaller but every bit as tough OFS4500 and OFS5500. The aluminum bodies, rotors and side plates shave off ounces, allowing anglers to cast and fish all day without the fatigue associated with heavier reels. The reels owe their strength and durability to center shafts supported by front and rear bearings, pinion gears that are supported between two oversize bearings, and especially strong and robust gears. An oversize multi-stack, double-sealed drag system lets you fish in tough environments with confidence. Both models have a gear ratio of 4.7:1, which translates into a retrieve rate of 34.9 inches per turn for the 4500, which holds 300 yards of 50-pound braid, and 37.9 inches per turn for the 5500, which holds 375 yards of 50-pound braid. Retail for either reel starts at $149.95. For more information, visit www.fin-norfishing.com.
