Steiner’s new Commander V marine binoculars use advanced optics and special lens-coating technology to deliver up to 96% light transmission and bright images for superior visibility, especially in low-light conditions. The rugged binocs are protected by a rubber, non-slip armor, and also feature a rapid autofocus system with “memory” eyepieces that don’t need to be readjusted to fit the same user each time. The economically contoured eyecups with ventilated oculars block distracting side light and spray without fogging. The model 392 ($900) weighs 40 oz. and has an internal compass with an illuminated reticle that can be activated with the touch of a button. The model 293 ($769) weighs 37 oz. and has no compass. Both models offer a field of view of 385′ at 1,000 yrds., and come with a 30-year warranty. Pioneer Research, Moorestown, NJ; (800) 257-7742; www.steiner-binoculars.com.
