Anglers are becoming more ambitious than ever when it comes to travel. Remote fishing locales definitely have their advantages, but one disadvantage is that many new spots are underequipped. After close to a year, CharkBait has completed the development of a high line-test series of travel rods. There are three rods, a 20- to 40-pound 7-foot casting rod and two trolling/stand-up rods featuring Pacific Bay unibutt-style all-aluminum aft sections. CharkBait’s travel rods are unique in that sections screw together, making them extra sturdy yet still allowing them to break down easily for packing and transport. Rods are four pieces and come with a heavy-duty travel bag that’s equipped with a zippered internal pocket to stow supplies like hooks, files, snips and other small accessories. Travel kits start at $219.99. For more information, visit www.charkbait.com.
