Caterpillar’s Cat C1.5 marine generator is clean, quiet and compact, making it ideal for use on smaller boats. The smooth-running 1.5-liter genset features a 3-cylinder, 4-stroke engine with a cast-aluminum expansion tank and exhaust manifold, a seawater pump with ceramic seals and a triple-pass heat exchanger with optional keel cooling (for open sets). The C1.5 also has electronic governing that provides isochronous control of engine speed and makes it easy to switch between 50 Hz and 60 Hz. Maximum power ratings are 11 ekW at 1500 rpm/50 Hz and 13.5 ekW at 1800 rpm/60 Hz. The unit features a variety of automatic safety shutdowns and comes with a 2-year or 2,000-hour parts-and-labor warranty, followed by an additional 3 years coverage on all major components.
