Flat-Line Fix

flatline_fix.jpg

When trolling in a small boat, sometimes the bait skips out of the water. We use this flat-line release to decrease the angle of entry and reduce skipping. Get a 2″ diameter suction cup and drill a small hole through the nipple. Insert the snap of a snap swivel through the hole and attach a flat-line-style roller release clip to the other end of the swivel. When the flat-line bait skips, attach the suction cup to the side of the cowling of the outboard motor, then run the line through the release clip.
