No Time to Tie?
Let’s face it, not all of us who fly fish tie our own flies. For novices, some patterns prove just too difficult to tie correctly, especially for those of us who have a few too many thumbs. Luckily there are a few people like Enrico Puglisi who are willing to tie them for us.
Puglisi not only ties some incredible flies, but now all of his flies feature exclusive EP-Fibers. This high-tech material is softer than traditional bucktail, yet stiffer than marabou. In addition, the EP-Fibers are totally waterproof so they won’t absorb water and remain light and easy to cast. EP-Fibers also hold their color longer than traditional dyed materials. Another unique feature of these fibers is that when submerged and retrieved, the material undulates naturally, producing a surprising imitation of live forage fish. Best of all, the EP-Fibers are remarkably tough and resistant to abrasion, so they can withstand repeated strikes from toothy fish and can be fished in areas with harsh structure that might destroy normal flies.
All of Enrico Puglisi’s flies feature Gamakatsu hooks and are available in a huge assortment of sizes and patterns for everything from bluefish to billfish.
