Eel-longated

st_tip8_220x290.gif

I like to fish live eels on the drift, but when I circle around to begin a new drift, the eel on my hook rolls itself into a little ball. To solve the problem, I took a 10-inch length of 3/4-inch-diameter PVC with an end cap on it. I drilled a 1/4-inch hole in the end cap and cut a slot down the entire length of the pipe with a hacksaw. When I’m ready to motor upwind, I slide the line into the slot and pull the tube down over the eel, keeping it ready to fish.
